Meet Boone!

This past Friday (the 23rd) we got our new puppy!  He really doesn’t like it when we leave him alone at the house, but he’s so cute!  We’re hoping he’ll stop crying and will sleep good soon.  Here’s a few pictures of him:

Guess it’s about time….

October 5, 2009 at 2:58 am (Uncategorized)

Wow! I can’t believe I have taken so long to update this!  We had a great summer and we’re now trying to get back into school mode.  I have 18 kids right now and they’re keeping me on my toes!  Koby is starting prerequisite for his medical physics degree so he is quite busy with homework these days.  Here are a few pictures from the summer and lately:

Koby and I went to Ruidoso for our anniversary this year.  We stayed up there for a couple of days and really enjoyed the vacation.

We have been in the house for a little over 3 months now and we are really enjoying it!  The yard does have grass now and that has been an adjustment from the apartment!  We didn’t have a yard to take care of there!

We will also be adding a new addition to our little family in about 2 weeks.  We will because the proud owners of a chocolate lab puppy! We can’t wait to go get ours and bring it home with us!  I know it’s going to be so spoiled, by Koby and myself!!!!  I’ll post pictures of it soon!

Birthdays, Fish Fry and Prom

April 11, 2009 at 7:12 pm (Uncategorized)

The last weekend of February the Nutt Family celebrated Papa’s birthday in Floydada. It was really fun to get together. We used the traditional huge candles in the cake because we couldn’t find any other ones!

We also celebrated Kaylie’s 17th birthday during spring break. We went and ate at Logan’s Roadhouse and then ate cake. I made Kaylie’s favorite-chocolate pound cake with powdered sugar! Yum!

We also had the family fish fry during spring break. Zach brought back lots of crawdads and shrimp from houston when they came back from the stock show. I personally didn’t eat any, but everyone else said it was delicious!

Kaylie’s prom was also this past month. I might be a little bias, but she looked absolutly beautiful! Jordan did her hair and make up. I helped her with some of it, but she really did a great job.

They looked so pretty! They also had the most original ride to prom! They took Hallie’s GEO that is red with zebra stripes and a chalkboard trunk! There dates were strapped in the backseat.

We had so much fun during Christmas break. We got to see all of our families and we really enjoyed that. Here are a few pictures.

Koby had a birthday in January, but unfortunately he had class that night.  We had to celebrate late because he was in class until 9.  Koby is really enjoying his class and will be finished the last week of March.  He is signed up to take the test May 28th so please be praying that he will do well!

We also attended Master Follies a few weeks ago and we so impressed with our cousins (Tyler and Blake) and Jason!  They did so good and we loved getting to see friends and family that had come into town.  Blake is in Best Friends and we got to watch them perform during Follies weekend.  We are a little biased, but they are really good!  Here are some pictures from that weekend.

Candlelight at the Ranch and Santaland

December 21, 2008 at 11:32 pm (Uncategorized)

Christmas time is so much fun!  Two events that Koby and I really enjoy are Candlelight at the Ranch and Santaland.  We went to the Ranching Heritage Center on Saturday night with Koby’s mom, sister, and River.  The Ranching Heritage is by the Texas Tech Museum and is made up of really old houses.  At Christmas time they put lights on all the houses and people dress up for the time period of the house they are in.  In some houses they are cooking and in others they are singing.  It’s really neat to walk by and see the people inside doing neat Christmas traditions.  River also got to see Santa there.  Here’s a few pictures:

That next Tuesday night we went to Santaland. They have lots of neat light up things and Santa and Mrs. Clause are there.  I think River really had fun at Santaland with all the fun stuff to look at.  My favorite thing about Santaland is the huge Christmas tree!  We decided to take some pictures with it.

Merry Christmas and we hope to see you all very soon!

Twilight, Thanksgiving, and Christmas beginnigs!

December 8, 2008 at 3:28 am (Uncategorized)

On November 21st Twilight finally came to theaters!  Amanda, Nicole, Kaylie, Kelsey, some of Amanda’s coworkers and I all went to see the movie together!  We had so much fun and the movie was so good!  Here are a few pictures of us standing in line.  Note the Twilight shirts!!!

After the movie we went to Amanda’s house and had “kisses of death” and “hot blood”!  It was really cookies with chocolate kisses and wassail, but the other names were more appropriate for the theme of the evening!

For Thanksgiving we spent Wednesday night and part of the day Thursday with Koby’s side of the family.  Kelsea and I went and saw Twilight Wednesday night and we spent Thursday eating and playing Rock Band!  We left around 3:30 and headed to Floydada.  Here’s a picture of us preparing to eat at the second Thanksgiving meal at my Granna’s house:

thanksgiving-006

At Granna’s house we ate and ended up calling it a night early.  The guys were really tired from stripping cotton and were ready to go to bed!  Since it rained on Thursday a little bit my dad didn’t get to strip cotton on Friday.  Koby and I stayed and went to Plainview with mom, dad, and Kaylie to eat and we went and saw “Four Christmases”.  We stayed in Floydada until Satuday and then came back to Lubbock.  We were really tired, but it was so good to see family

On the day I went back to school we had a school wide tree trimming.  Each class made ornaments and while we sang Christmas carols a few kids from each class got to hang their ornaments on the tree.  It was so fun and the kids loved it!  Especially when Santa got there to visit us!  Here are a few pictures of my kids at the tree trimming.

They were really excited!

They were really excited!

Koby and I also got our Chirstmas tree put up.  Some friends of ours gave us their tree so we got to spend more money on decorations this year!  Thanks Amber and Jesse!!  We don’t have very many ornamnets on our tree this year, but we love the two special ones we have!  Koby’s mom gave us a beautiful glass snowflake with the year on it and then we bought another snowflake at Holland Garden’s that we really liked.  We hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season and hope to see you all soon!

Turkey Trot!!!

November 21, 2008 at 4:17 am (Uncategorized)

Last weekend Jordan convinced me to get up early on a Saturday to go walk at LCU in the Turkey Trot.  We had so much fun!  It was really a running thing, but they let people walk to.  It was so cold that morning, but we walked two laps around the school which totaled a little over 2 miles.  I’m pretty sure we came in second place for the walkers, but we didn’t get anything but sore throats!  We did get really cool matching shirts that we are very excited about wearing!

Isn’t the turkey cute?  I will post again soon!

Happy Halloween!!!

November 6, 2008 at 2:51 am (Uncategorized)

We had such a fun Halloween this year.  I had to go to school that day we did some fun Halloween projects during the day. I had picked little pumpkins for each of my kids from dad’s field and gave it to them on Halloween. Instead of painting and getting messy I let the kids use paper and yarn to decorate them. They had so much fun!

fall-001

I was kind of sad we didn’t have a Halloween party day, but the day still turned out fun.  It was also “Say No To Drugs” week and the kids were suppose to wear stuff with red on it. My class actually came in 3rd place in the building!

That night we had a very special trick or treater come to see us.  River was adorable!!  He was a munchkin from the Wizard of Oz.

fall-0011

This was the only picture I got of River.  He was having a lot of fun walking around our house putting the stuff he wanted in his trick or treat bag.  We spent the rest of the weekend at White River Youth Camp helping with a high school retreat.  We had a lot of fun catching up with friends and eating great food!  We were really tired when we got home though! We will post again soon!

My Birthday!

October 25, 2008 at 5:04 pm (Uncategorized)

I just wanted to share a few pictures with you from my birthday last week. Koby and I went to Floydada on Friday night and ate with the Nutt family. Koby took me to eat at the Olive Garden on Monday, but he wouldn’t let me take any pictures because it was “embarrassing”!

We are also excited that Koby sold his pickup! He sold it on my birthday so I guess October 20th will be a bittersweet day for him! We will post again soon!

Hello All!

October 16, 2008 at 3:35 am (Uncategorized)

Well, Amanda finally convinced me that we needed a blog…so here we are! The last few months have been somewhat of a whirlwind. I started my first teaching job in Slaton and I started out the year with 24 1st graders! Two weeks ago they hired a new 1st grade teacher so I’m currently at 21! Wheww! It was a tough six weeks. Koby is still working at the lab and is going to start a class to prepare him for the MCAT in November. We are really excited that he is going to be starting that so hopefully school will come soon!

A few weeks ago Koby and I made our first HUGE purchase together. We bought a Koby a new pickup!

We are really enjoying it and I know Koby would love to take you for a ride if you ever want to! He loves it! I actually got to drive it to school the other day and I kind of liked it myself, but I don’t think Koby would trade me.

Last weekend we went to Floydada to visit and to take River to the pumpkin patch. Needless to say, he had a blast! My dad took him to see lots of things on the farm. He really enjoyed seeing the cows and riding the tractor! We also found out his favorite thing to do with the pumpkins was throw them! We had to work very hard to get this picture of him…he wouldn’t sit still!

Mom decided to take our Christmas card picture so expect this is something very similar in December! Don’t let our smiles fool you- we were freezing!

I thought a cute pumpkin picture of Koby and I would be fun, but we are both cursed when it comes to taking pictures…this was take 5 I think!

We hope you enjoy all of the pictures and I’ll try to update often!
